2) My one and only YA story, "How the Foot Came to Be" is now part of the science curriculum in the Houston (Texas) school system.
"The story will be used in Lesson 7 titled "How Do I Measure This?". This lesson is part of a 30 lesson/ 6 week unit called Mars Rover Celebration in which students research Mars and design their own Mars rover. During the lesson 7, students learn about the importance of standardized measurements and taking accurate measurements. Roughly half of the lessons in this unit have been written so far and are located at: http://marsrover.phys.uh.edu/about.php with the direct link to lessons here: http://marsrover.phys.uh.edu/LessonPlans.php Once lesson 7 is complete, it will be posted here as well.
